The City of Bridgeport is in good financial shape. That assessment of the city finances was made by Curt Bensen of Kemper CPA in the annual fiscal year audit report to the City Council Tuesday night. The Council approved the audit report and also moved to approve a three year contract with Kemper for auditing services for the city. They also approved an ordinance authorizing the issuance of $350,000 in general obligation bonds through Peoples State Bank to help finance the completion of the city sewer lagoon project. The bonds will be paid back over a 5 year period at 2 1/2% interest with payments beginning next fiscal year. Trick or Treat hours for Halloween were also set. They will be from 5 until 8 p.m. on Thursday October 31st.
