Motorists in Lawrence and surrounding counties in Illinois can expect to see more state police and local law enforcement out on the roads through the Labor Day holiday weekend-the final summer holiday weekend. The Illinois State Police say the emphasis will be on drunk driving. Those celebrating are reminded not to drink and drive and use a designated driver. They will also be looking out for distracted drivers, those who are speeding and driving irresponsively, and those who are not wearing their seat belts.
