Illinois State Police at Effingham report an Olney man was killed in a three vehicle crash Thursday afternoon on Illinois Route 130 in Richland County. 81 year old Jesse Bromm was traveling south in a 2008 Chevrolet pickup truck when he crossed the center line and sideswiped a Dodge Ram pickup being driven by 43 year old William Haley of West Liberty. The truck continued south and sideswiped a 2008 Ford pickup being driven by 53 year old Douglas Giles of Teutopolis. The impact drove both the Bromm and Giles trucks off the road and into a ditch. Bromm was pronounced dead at the scene. Giles and three passengers in his truck were taken to an area hospital for treatment of their injuries. Giles and two of his passengers were cited for not wearing their seat belts.
