The Parkview Lady Softball Braves dropped their home opener Tuesday to Newton (Jasper County) 11-0 in 6 innings at Phil Alsman Field in Lawrenceville. The visitors scored 11 runs on 9 hits with no errors while the Lady Braves were shut out on only 1 hit with 3 errors. The lone hit was by Alyssa Griggs. Abby Taylor took the pitching loss. The Lady Braves are now 0-2 and will head to Bridgeport Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. to meet the Red Hill Junior High Miss Salukis as they open their 2019 season at Leigh Ann Westall Field.
