New Cincinnati Reds pitcher Trevor Bauer struck out 11 batters in his home debut Friday night to beat the Chicago Cubs 5-2 in game two of their four game series at the Great American Ballpark. Bauer kept the Cub offense in check allowing just one run on three hits over 7 innings including Nicholas Castellanos’ third homer of the series. He escaped two on threats in both the fourth and sixth innings by the Cubs. Reds rookie outfielder Aristedes Aquino hit a two run homer off Cub starter and loser Yu Darvish in the bottom of the first inning to give the Reds a lead they would never relinquish. Eugenio Suarez and Joey Votto also went deep in the contest. Game three is under the lights Saturday with Kyle Hendricks (8-8) pitching for the Cubs against Sonny Gray (6-6) for the Reds. The game can be heard on Lite 103 WAKO beginning with the pregame at 5:35 p.m. Central Time 6:35 Eastern.
