HAPP SLAM LEADS TO CUBS WIN

Ian Happ blasted his second career grand slam home run to back the solid pitching of Jose Quintana and lead the Chicago Cubs to a 10-1 win Wednesday afternoon over the Oakland A’s at Wrigley Field. Quintana tossed two hit ball through seven innings to win his sixth straight decision. In addition to Happ, Kyle Schwarber added a three run homer and Victor Caratini also went deep. Javier Baez added two hits and two RBI to the Cub attack. With the win the Cubs took two of three in the interleague matchup. It’s back to National League play Thursday night for the Cubs as they open a four game weekend series against the Cincinnati Reds at the Great American Ballpark. Pitching pairing for game one is Cole Hamels (6-3) for the Cubs and Alex Wood (1-0) for the Reds.
