METH STILL A PROBLEM IN ILLINOIS

A new report from the Illinois State Criminal Justice Information Authority shows that the drug methamphetamine is still a major problem across the state.  Meth arrests rose by 289% between 2010 and 2017 with the most cases in central and southern Illinois. Data from the Authority shows that most of the people arrested for meth possession and use were white males under the age of 40. Meth continues to be prevalent because it is more readily available and is cheaper to purchase than in years past.
