LAWRENCE COUNTY HIT AND RUN SUSPECT NABBED

A Clay County Illinois man was taken into custody in Knox County Indiana early Sunday after being involved in a hit and run in Lawrence County. 60 year old Daniel Fehrenbacher of Ingraham was alledgedly involved in the crash and left the scene and was being pursued by the Lawrence County Sheriffs Department east on US 50 into Knox County. Indiana State Police and the Knox County Sheriffs Department  put out stop sticks on US 50 east of the Red Skelton Bridge and the Fehrenbacher vehicle hit them and veered out of control off the road about 500 feet into an earthen embankment. Fehrenbacher was injured and taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes for treatment. Alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the incident and charges are pending.
