NEW LAWRENCE COUNTY BOARD MEMBER SEATED

The Lawrence County Board met Wednesday afternoon and welcomed a new member. Dustin Meadows of Bridgeport was approved by the board to fill the District 3 vacancy left by the death of Bill Gray. Meadows was an appointee of the Lawrence County Republican Central Commitee and will fill the unexpired term of Gray. He was sworn in by Lawrence County Clerk Will Gibson. The board announced that starting on Monday August 5th the courthouse and its annex will have regular business hours of 8 a.m. till 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Building and grounds committee chairman Tom Robinson announced that beginning in early October there will be repairs made to the limestone at both entrances and to the concrete steps and approach on the north side of the courthouse.  The board also approved the appointment of Jeff Kocher to the Russell-Allison Water Authority replacing Norman Kocher who resigned.
