The Lawrence Public Library Board meeting in regular session Tuesday night upon recommendation of it’s finance committee approved a tentative fiscal year 2020 budget of around $383,500. The proposed spending plan will now be available for public viewing for a month before its formal adoption in September. The board also approved adopting an ordinance to levy a tax for building and maintenence purposes. There was discussion regarding LED lighting improvements for the library and estimates will be sought for projected costs. An update was also given on the microfilm digitizational project.
