national-weather-service

The National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Watch from Wednesday through Saturday for the entire WAKO listening area. Highs each day are forecasted to be in the mid to upper 90s with the heat indices reaching between 105 to 110 degrees. An Excessive Heat Watch means that a prolonged period of extremely hot weather is expected. The combination of those hot temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a dangerous situation in which heat stress and illness is possible when outdoors. The young, the elderly, those without air conditioning, and those people who are outdoors for lengthy periods of time will be the most susceptible. If you will be outdoors during the period keep hydrated with water, dress in light colored loose clothing, avoid prolonged direct sunlight, and do not overexert.
