Officials with the George Rogers Clark National Historic Park in Vincennes say a pedestrian approach to the Lincoln Memorial Bridge will remain closed until repairs can be made. The bridge carries traffic between Lawrence County and Vincennes and the approach is part of the park. Park Superintendent Frank Doughman says the approach on the bridges north side in Vincennes had to be closed due to deterioration to a decades old adhesive that binds numerous 500 pound granite panels to the approach’s facade. Repairs could cost up to $8 million. The approach will remain closed until the National Parks Service funds the project.
