Susan E. “Sue” Vail, 66, of Evansville, IN, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at her residence. She was born on January 30, 1953 in Mount Carmel, Illinois the daughter of William and Mildred (Weiler) Vail.
Sue will be remembered for her infectious personality and always being the life of the party. To many Sue was the type of person you could count on for a hug, smile or laugh. She had a very giving spirit and would do anything to help others. Sue loved her family and her nieces and nephews held a special place in her heart. Sue was their biggest cheerleader and made it a priority to attend all of their birthdays and special events. To all her nieces and nephews, Sue was known as the cool Aunt, this was a title she was very proud of. She had the most infectious laugh and had a true gift of being able to laugh at herself when she made a mistake instead of being down on herself.
Sue was a dedicated to her work as a Master Medical Coder. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Sue loved animals especially her cats, Shadow, Toby and Roxy. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.
Sue will be remembered by her two sisters, Janis Roberts and husband Barry of Mount Carmel and Jackie Gillespie of Bridgeport, IL; nephews, Gavin Roberts and Clay Gillespie; nieces, Lori Roberts, Lindsey Clay, Abby Hunsaker and Brooke Gillespie; great nieces and nephews, Lauren Clay, Max Clay, Luciana Clay, Kyler Guercio, Korbin Hunsaker, Kenna Hunsaker, Kasyn Hunsaker, Carver James, Lyle James, Nevaeh Brock and Evan Roberts; and best friend Cindy Ohl of Evansville, IN.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents and brother, John Vail.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a Visitation from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., Friday, July 12, 2019 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be 3:00 p.m., Friday, July 12, 2019 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Mount Carmel, IL.
