The Bridgeport City Council held regular session Tuesday at City Hall. They recieved a report on the Main Street building collapse which occured on July 4th. The building had partially fallen in previously and the remainder went down on that day. The city will now work on cleaning up the affected area and look at what will happen to that location in the future. The matter was sent to committee for further study and review. Police chief Scott Murray indicated that a new 2019 Dodge police car has been ordered at a cost of around $26,000. Grant money will pay most of the cost. City Superintendent Shannon Selby informed the council that city hydrant flushing will commence on Tuesday, July 16th. Residents of Bridgeport should check their water for any discoloration when the flushing begins.
