The Vincennes Board of Works and Safety during its session Monday did move toward solving the problematic Gimbel Corner wall project. They moved to sever the contract with the company previously hired to do the work and accepted the low bid of Hendrickson Concrete to complete the project at around $37,000. Mayor Joe Yochum says he hopes that the downtown project can be done in 45 days weather permitting. The Board also approved a resolution renaming Oliphant Drive as Rath Way in the future. The renaming is to honor the Vincennes University Vice-President of Financial Services and Government Relations for his work with the university and the City on various development projects. Also approved was the use of the Riverfront Pavilion downtown on Friday October 4th for Vincennes Lincoln High School Homecoming activities
