Kyle Hendricks tossed one run baseball over seven innings Sunday night to lead the Chicago Cubs to a 5-1 win over the St Louis Cardinals in the final game of their three game series at Wrigley Field. The win completed a sweep of the series with their National League Central rivals and a 6-1 homestand. All nine games between the two teams this season have been won by the home team. Hendricks improved to 7-4 by scattering eight hits to win his sixth straight decision. Kyle Schwarber went 2 for 3 and drove in two runs and Carlos Gonzalez hit his first homer as a Cub to back Hendricks in the win. Kolton Wong drove in the lone Redbird run with a double. The Cubs will open a three game series Monday night at Coors Field in Colorado against the Rockies. Yu Darvish (2-3) will go for the Cubs and German Marquez (6-3) for the Rockies in the opener. The Cubs took two of three against the Rockies at home last week. Catch the action on Lite 103 WAKO beginning with the pregame show at 7:05 p.m. Central Time 8:05 Eastern.
