BOTE’S BIG NIGHT SPURS CUB WIN

David Bote drove in a career high seven runs to pace the Chicago Cubs to a 9-8 win over the Colorado Rockies Wednesday night at Wrigley Field. He had four hits including a three run homer and a bases loaded double to hand the Rockies their second straight loss. Reliever Brandon Kintzler picked up the win for the Cubs while Rockie starter German Marquez took the loss. After the game, it was announced that the Cubs had agreed to sign closer Craig Kimbrell. The Cubs will look for a sweep Thursday afternoon when they send Jose Quintana (4-4) to the hill against Jon Gray (5-4) for Colorado. The game can be heard on Lite 103 WAKO beginning with the pregame at 12:45 p.m. Central Time 1:45 Eastern.
