ALMORA GRAND SLAM VAULTS CUBS PAST PHILLIES

Albert Almora Jr’s first career grand slam home run helped rally the Chicago Cubs past the Philadelphia Phillies Wednesday night at Wrigley Field 8-4. The Cubs trailed 3-0 until the bottom of the third when Anthony Rizzo tied the contest with a three run blast. The tie lasted until the bottom of the fifth when Almora Jr launched a Cole Irvin pitch into the center field schrubs to put the Cubs on top to stay 7-4. Javier Baez added a solo homer in the seventh. Game four of the series is an afternoon affair Thursday with Aaron Nola (4-0) going for the Phils and Jon Lester (3-2) for the Cubs.
