Kris Bryant matched a career high with three home runs and drove in five leading the Chicago Cubs to a 14-6 win over the Washington Nationals Friday night at Nationals Park. Albert Almora Jr, Kyle Schwarber, and Willson Contreras also went deep to help the National League Central Division leading Cubs snap a two game losing skid. Javier Baez also extended his major league leading hitting streak to 15 games.  Bryant homered in the 7th, 8th, and 9th making him the 12th player in MLB history to homer in three straight innings and only the second to do so in the 7th, 8th, and 9th innings of a game. He finished with four hits on the night and extended his on-base streak to 26 games–longest in the majors this season. Game two of the series is Saturday night with Jon Lester (3-1) going up against Stephen Strasburg (3-3).
