HENDRICKS BRILLIANT IN SHUTOUT OF CARDINALS

wako-cubs-2

Cubs starter Kyle Hendricks was outstanding Friday as he shut out the St Louis Cardinals 4-0 in game one of their three game series at Wrigley Field. He needed just 81 pitches to complete the four hitter. It was the fewest pitches needed for a major league shut out since 2012. Anthony Rizzo homered for the third straight game-a three run blast in the bottom of the third off Redbird starter and loser Jack Flaherty. That was more than enough offensive support for Hendricks to achieve his third career shutout and fourth complate game. The Cubs have won 5 straight games and will look to take game two of the series Saturday afternoon. Michael Wacha (2-0) will pitch for St Louis and Yu Darvish (2-3) will go for the Cubs. You can catch the action on Lite 103 WAKO beginning with the pregame at 2:30 p.m. Central Time.
