Karen Jean (Moran) Spangler 70 of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away suddenly at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana on Friday, April 19, 2019.

She was born on January 26, 1949 to Martha (Lawrence) and Harold Moran in Alton, Illinois.

Karen married Harold Spangler in Olney, Illinois in 1971 and Harold preceded her in death in 1981. They had one son Paul Lee Spangler and he survives. She married her second husband Ralph Spangler in 1990 in Mt. Carmel at their Pastors Home and he preceded her in death in 2018.

Karen worked at the United Methodist Village in Lawrenceville for over 26 years as a CNA. She loved caring for the Residents and they loved her.

She loved caring for her family and her beloved cats and dogs.

Karen was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ in Lawrenceville.

She is survived by her loving son Paul, her 3 stepchildren David Spangler and wife Brenda of Lawrenceville, Deborah Pruitt and husband Bruce of Lawrenceville, Illinois, and Dolores Byrd her 3 sisters Hope Cox and husband Richard of Alton, Illinois, Janet Kay Diveley and husband Norb of Arnold, Missouri and Lois Green of Hardin, Illinois, 2 step-grandchildren Nicole Lowrey and Kevin Spangler of Lawrenceville, and 2 step-great-grandsons Trenton and Desmond of Lawrenceville.

Karen is preceded in death by her parents Martha and Harold Moran, her husband Harold her second husband Ralph, 3 brothers Lawrence, Harold and Donald, 6 sisters June, Joan, Mary, Kathy, Kathleen and Joyce.
