RIZZO AND CONTERAS LEAD CUBS OVER ANGELS

Willson Conteras homered twice and Anthony Rizzo also went deep to back the solid pitching of Cole Hamels as the Chicago Cubs beat the Los Angeles Angels 5-1 in interleague play at Wrigley Field Friday. Hamels went 8 innings to pick up the win. The win snapped an Angels 6 game winning streak. Albert Pujols homered for the only Angels run. The Angels also were without All-Star outfielder Mike Trout who will miss the series with a groin injury. Game two of the series is Saturday afternoon with Chris Stratton (0-1) going for LA and Kyle Hendricks (0-2) for the Cubs.
