Low Voter Turnout for Election Day in Lawrence County

   Very few contested races led to low voter turnout for Tuesday’s Consolidated Election in Lawrence County. Only 8.9 percent of registered voters in Lawrence County took part. There were a couple of contested races for seats on the Bridgeport City Council. In Ward 3, Chris Seitzinger defeated Billie Ralston. In Ward 2, Charles Lemeron defeated Tonya Collins for the seat vacated by Jason Thacker, who decided not to run again. There were a couple of races for a seat on the Unit 20 School Board. In District 4, T.J. Pargin defeated Francie Scott. In District 1, Kyle Gray defeated Emma Engel to replace Steve Kocher, who did not attempt to retain his seat. There were also a couple of contested races for seats on the St. Francisville City Council. In Ward 2, Brittany Hall defeated Gregory Shearer for the seat vacated Francis “Speed” Moody, who chose not to run again. In Ward 3, Gabe T. Padgett defeated William A. Cogdill for the seat vacated by Wayne Kohlhouse, who also chose not to run again.
