Two Vincennes Men Sentenced in Lawrence County Circuit Court

   Lawrence County State’s Attorney Michael Strange announced that two Vincennes men were sentenced in Lawrence County Circuit Court this week. 28 year-old Nicholas T. Anthis of Vincennes was sentenced to four years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on a charge of burglary. That will be followed by two years of mandatory supervised release. Anthis is also required to pay court costs.

   37 year-old Charles T. Griffith of Vincennes was re-sentenced to three years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on a charge of unlawful possession of methamphetamine.  Griffith had previously been placed on two years of felony probation; but admitted to violating the terms of his probation by providing drug screens that test positive for meth. Griffith’s prison sentence will be followed by one year of mandatory supervised release. Griffith is also required to pay fines as well as court costs.
