Vincennes police made an arrest Friday in connection with two violent crimes dating back to 2011. The cases involved an attempted armed robbery and an alleged home-intruder assault. Both cases were reopened to further investigate physical evidence from each case. That evidence led police to 33-year-old Ryan A.J. Shreve of Vincennes. In late September 2011, an armed robbery attempt was reported at a Vincennes business. Around the same time, a home-intruder assault occurred at a Vincennes residence. In the first case, Shreve was charged with attempted armed robbery and criminal confinement using a deadly weapon and battery. In the second case, he was charged with two counts of rape with threat of force with a deadly weapon, burglary while armed causing bodily injury and criminal confidant armed with a deadly weapon. Shreve is being held at the Knox County Jail on $50,000 bond, pending a court appearance.
