Caitlin Bowersock of the Red Hill Lady Basketball Salukis is the Class 2A Girls Basketball Three Point Showdown champion. The junior hit 13 three points baskets Friday night at the 2A girls state finals at Redbird Arena in Normal to win the title by 1 over Sammi Matoush of Hillsboro. Bowersock is the first Red Hill female to win the competition. She will now advance to face the three other class champions for Queen of the Hill honors next week during the girls 3A and 4A finals also at Redbird Arena. Meanwhile two Lawrenceville Indians have advanced out of the 2A Mt Carmel regional three point shooting competition Friday night. Both Cale Powell and Jarrett Winkles are moving on to the Vandalia Sectional next week.
