INDIANS DROP HOME ENCOUNTER WITH OLNEY

The Lawrenceville Basketball Indians suffered their second loss in a row Friday night as they were beaten at home by the Olney Tigers in Little Illini Conference play 47-31. The Tigers led 8-6 after one quarter, 21-14 at the half and 32-25 after three quarters before the visitors broke open the game with free throws  down the stretch for the win. The Tribe struggled on offense due to tough Olney defense and were 0 for 13 from beyond the three point arc. No one in double digits for the Indians-Blayne Winningham had 9 points and Connor O’Dell 7. Sutton Dunn led the Tigers with 18 and Brent Hatton added 12. The Indian JV did win 47-28. Noah Weger had 14, Brenyn Winningham 11, and Ethan Kelly 12. With the loss, the Indians are back at .500 at 12-12 and 3-3 in the LIC. Olney is now 20-4 and 6-1 in the LIC. The Indians remain at home Tuesday when they host the Red Hill Salukis on Pack the Place Night.
