Dorothy Marie Guite, age 91 of St. Francisville, passed away Thursday, January 31, 2019 in Indianapolis, IN at the IU Health Methodist Hospital. She was born August 30, 1927 in St. Francisville to Thomas Hendrix Kohlhouse and his wife Lucy Ann (Fortner) Kohlhouse.
On February 27, 1955, Dorothy married Lomer Guite.
Dorothy enjoyed being a homemaker to her family, reading, gardening, playing the piano, and taking in the beauty of nature.
Surviving family includes: her husband- Lomer Guite of St. Francisville: three children- John Guite of St. Francisville, Mark Guite of St. Francisville, and Ann Dods and husband Bryan of Greer, SC: one sister- Jeanette McCaslin of West Palm Beach, FL: and three grandchildren- Audrey and Elizabeth Rose Dods and Hunter Guite.
She was preceded in death by: her parents- Thomas Hendrix Kohlhouse and Lucy Ann Kohlhouse: three brothers- Lewis, Robert, and Marion Kohlhouse: and three sisters- Alma Williams, Helen Bolen, and Cerettia Salyers.
A funeral service will be held for Dorothy Guite at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at the Christian Church of St. Francisville. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Burial will follow services at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery. Cunningham Funeral Homes is handling the arrangements.
