Geraldine Ann “Gerry” Allen Schrader, age 89 of Robinson and formerly of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Thursday, January 24, 2019. She was born October 3, 1929 in Bridgeport to Fred and Ella (Stilley) Brunson.
Gerry was married to and raised a beautiful family with William Ivan Allen. He preceded her in death in 1985. She later met and married Brad Schrader, who preceded her in death in 2008.
As a believer in Christ, Gerry attended both the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Presbyterian Church of Bridgeport. Gerry was a homemaker and a brilliant beautician for many years. She was a very active lady; involved in everything. There was never any doubt that she deeply loved her family and friends.
Surviving family includes: six children, Jim Allen and wife Cynda of Bridgeport, Ken Allen and wife Violet of Robinson, Ella Allen of Robinson, Tim Allen and wife Janet of Bicknell, IN, Bill Allen and wife Sheri of Eldorado, Paul Allen and wife Debbie of Rockwall, TX two step-children- Jo Bradshaw of Marion and Judy Sale of London, UK; two brothers, Dean Brunson and wife Joyce of Lawrenceville and Bob Brunson and wife Judy of Ozark, Arkansas; three sisters-in-law, Norrita Brunson of Clarksville, AR, Dixie Brunson of Wheatland, IN, and Jane Brunson of Ellicott, MD; 27 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Ella Brunson; first husband, Willian Ivan Allen; second husband, Brad Schrader; three brothers, Don, Paul, and James Brunson; one sister, Margaret; and one son, Donald.
A funeral service for Gerry Allen Schrader will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at the Cunningham Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Burial will be held at a later date.
