Friday Night Fire in Washington

   Multiple fire departments responded to a fire at Boyd and Son’s Machinery at 16 South 350-East in Washington last night. The initial page went out at 10:36-pm and according to Sheriff’s Department logs, departments were on scene until 2:25 this morning.  Montgomery, Plainville, Southeast, Veale and Washington Township Fire Departments all responded. Wheatland Fire was also paged out. No injuries were reported.  Damage estimated at 2 million dollars.   No foul play is suspected as the state fire marshal is investigating the cause. It’s the 2nd major fire in Daviess county this week.  Wednesday morning a turkey barn south of the GPC plant owned by Robert and Amanda French of Vincennes was destroyed by fire as was over 10,000 turkeys owned by Perdue Farms.
