Jo Anne Haines, age 87, passed away on Friday, December 21, 2018 at a nursing home in Evansville, IN. She was born in Lawrenceville, IL. on September 12, 1931, to Levitt Ernest and Bessie May (Dennison) Gray. She graduated from Lawrenceville High School in May 1949. One of her first jobs was to work at the Haines Hardware Store, where she would meet her future husband Donald Eugene Haines. They were married on October 26, 1952. Jo Anne worked as the Office Manager at Suttle Apparatus in Lawrenceville for 20 years. She then worked as a Case Assistant Supervisor at the Generations program at Vincennes University for 26 years. She was preceded in death by her, husband Donald Eugene Haines, on June 27, 1995, as well as five other siblings. Jo Anne is survived by her son; Jeff Haines and Henrietta Rumade of Evansville, IN and his sons Eric, Alan, and Nicholas Haines and Colby Raibley; son Dennis Haines and his wife Stephanie of Flower Mound, TX and their sons Patrick, Ryan and wife Alyssa. She is also survived by eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday, December 28, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be Friday from 12:00 noon until the service hour of 1:00. Burial will be at the Lawrenceville City Cemetery.
