INDIANS HANDLE RIVET; GET BACK TO .500

The Lawrenceville Basketball Indians recieved balanced scoring from four players and got back to .500 with a 74-60 win Thursday night over the Vincennes Rivet Patriots in action at Holscher Gym in Vincennes. The Tribe led 17-12 after one quarter and extended the lead to 39-26 at the half. The lead was 11 after three quarters 51-40 before the host Patriots made a  run at the Indians in the final period. But they were able to hit some key buckets and hit enough free throws down the stretch to pick up the win. Jordan Jones led the way with 21 points followed by Zeus Marsh with 18, Blayne Winningham with 14, and Conner O’Dell added 11 off the bench. Colten Mouzin for Rivet led all scorers with 25. With the victory, the Indians are now 5-5 and will be off till Thursday, the 27th when they face the Teutopolis Wooden Shoes in the Teutopolis-Effingham Christmas Tournament at Teutopolis. The Indian JV also beat Rivet 45-30 behind Jarrett Winkles 11 points.
