INDIANS 7TH, SALUKIS 6TH IN BASKETBALL CAPITAL CLASSIC

The Lawrenceville Indians finished 7th and the Red Hill Salukis 6th in the finals of the Lawrence County Basketball Capital Classic at Lawrenceville High School Saturday afternoon and evening. The Indians salvaged a game in the tourney and went 1-3 after a 69-54 win in the 7th place contest over Mt Carmel. The Tribe had four players in double digits in the win-Zeus Marsh led the way with 19, Noah Weger and Jordan Jones each had 17 and Blayne Winningham added 10. The Red Hill Salukis lost 75-44 to Salem in the 5th place game. Drew Moore had 16 and Parker Havill 14 for the Salukis who also went 1-3 in the tourney. Olney beat Marshall 45-33 for third place and Fairfield captured their first ever BCC title with a 74-64 win over defending champion Teutopolis in the title game. Jayzale O’Neal of Fairfield was the tournament MVP. Two Lawrence County Players were named to the All-Tournament team-Zeus Marsh of the Indians and Drew Moore of the Salukis.
