Name of Victim in Deadly Police Pursuit Released

   Authorities have released the name of the man involved in a deadly police chase in Vincennes Wednesday afternoon. Vincennes Police report, that at 4pm eastern an officer saw a vehicle believed to have been involved in a felony earlier in the day.  The officer attempted a traffic stop at 7th and Busseron.  The suspect vehicle fled from the police car. Vincennes Police Chief Dusty Luking says a passenger in the car tried to exit several times during the chase and finally did so at 6th and Willow and was taken into custody.  However, the car continued south on 6th Street Road and managed to gain some distance from the officers chasing him.  That’s when police saw the car pass the area of Bandmill Road and South 6th , leave the roadway and crash, coming to rest in a creek near a bridge.  The driver, 43 year-old Joseph Robinson of Vincennes, was ejected.  Vincennes and state police found Robinson, and provided immediate medical attention until EMS services arrived and took over. Robinson was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes and pronounced dead there.  An autopsy for Robinson is scheduled for today, however, preliminary reports indicate he died from multiple internal injuries.
