Lawrence County State’s Attorney Michael Strange announced that a Bridgeport man was sentenced in Lawrence County Circuit Court this week. 37 year-old Jeremy D. Novak of Bridgeport was re-sentenced to two and a half years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on a charge of theft. Novak had previously been placed on two years of felony probation; but admitted to violating the terms of his probation by refusing to submit to drug screens. Novak’s prison sentence will be followed by one year of mandatory supervised release. Novak is also required to pay fines as well as court costs.
