BREWERS BEAT CUBS TO TIGHTEN NL CENTRAL RACE

Curtis Granderson homered and tripled among his three hits and Lorenzo Cain added three more to help lead the Milwaukee Brewers to a 5-1 win over the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field Wednesday night. Mike Moustakas also had a two run single to enable the Brewers to take two of three in the series and cut the Cubs’ division lead down to one game. Josh Hader picked up the win in relief while Cub starter Kyle Hendricks took the loss. Kris Bryant had two hits and drove in the Cub run. The Cubs will be in Washington DC to play a rescheduled game with the Nationals postponed from this past weekend by rain. Mike Montgomery (4-5) will go for the Cubs against Joe Ross (0-0) will go for the Nationals.
