BASEBALL BRAVES WIN; SALUKIS LOSE IN JUNIOR HIGH REGIONAL

The Parkview Baseball Braves remained alive in postseason play while the Red Hill Jr High Baseball Salukis had their season end Tuesday in first round play in the Casey Class AA Regional 16 tournament. The Braves ran their winning streak to 9 games with a 6-5 win over Louisville North Clay at Unit 20 Ballpark in Lawrenceville. They plated 2 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to break a 4-4 tie and then held on in the top of the seventh as North Clay scored and had the tying run at third when the game ended. The Braves now move on to the semifinals Saturday at Casey when they play 2nd seeded and host Casey at 12:30 p.m. Meanwhile the Salukis lost decisively in first round play to Toledo Cumberland at Toledo 12-1 in five innings. They were held to 1 run on only four hits in the loss with Bryce Gross getting two of those. The Salukis end their season at 5-6.
