Roy Daniel Winship, age 52 of Sumner, passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at Carle Hospital in Urbana after a long battle with cancer. He was born January 13, 1966 in Lawrenceville to James Albert Winship and his wife Mary Lou (Fisher) Winship.
Roy had worked at Kauffman’s Engineering, worked as an auto mechanic and detailer, and he was a very good artist and singer as well.
Surviving family includes: his three children- Ian Taylor Winship and his wife Harley of Sumner, India Winship of Lawrenceville, and Yzabella Marie Winship of Lawrenceville: his fiancé- Julie Jean Degrange of Sumner: one brother- James Allen Winship and wife Sally of Lawrenceville: one sister- Susan Katherine Lynch and husband John of Lawrenceville: five grandchildren-Lincoln Fausnacht, Jayda Paige Winship, Kaitlynn Grace Winship, Lorilei Nicole Winship, and Myles Clinton Winship: and his former wife- Julie Ann Richards.
He was preceded in death by: his parents: one sister- Theresa Diane (Winship) Sechrest: one nephew- Ira James Lynch: and one niece- Rowan Jade Hunsaker.
