CUBS MANAGE WIN OVER BREWERS TO AVOID SWEEP

Daniel Murphy and Kyle Schwarber both homered and Ben Zobrist had three hits to help the Chicago Cubs salvage the final game of their three game series 6-4 over the Milwaukee Brewers Wednesday at Miller Park. Jose Quintana pitched solidly for the Cubs to pick up the victory allowing two runs in 6 2/3 innings. Jhoulys Chacin took the loss for the Brewers who are now four games back of the Cubs in the NL Central Division. The Cubs are back in action Thursday night as they open a four game series this weekend in Washington. Kyle Hendricks (11-10) will go in game one for the Cubs against Stephen Strasburg (7-7).
