Indiana State Police are investigating a car crash that killed two people and seriously injured another over the weekend.  The wreck happened on Old US-41 at County Road 225 around 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Indiana State Police say that 19-year-old Trevor Watt of Princeton was driving northbound on Old US 41 just north of Princeton, preparing to turn left on County Road 225. Police say a vehicle being driven by 25 year-old Ashley Sanders of Patoka was approaching Watt’s vehicle as he slowed down to turn. Troopers say for unknown reasons Sanders failed to notice the vehicle in front of her slowing down and collided into the rear of the car. Watt and his passenger, 20 year-old James Gasaway of Haubstadt, were pronounced dead at the scene. Both men were wearing seat belts according to State Police. Sanders was not wearing a seat belt and was airlifted to St.Vincent Hospital in Evansville for treatment of serious injuries. The crash is still under investigation, but the press release from Police says investigating troopers do think alcohol is a factor.
