The Lawrenceville golf Indians got off to a good start to their season Thursday by finishing second in the six team Mt Carmel Invitational. Carmi-White County won the affair with a 316 team total followed by the Indians with 324, host Mt Carmel was third at 347, Hamilton County fourth with 360, followed by Harrisburg and Fairfield. Medalist on the day was Camren Ray of the Indians. He finished tied with Oakley Gee of Mt Carmel at even par 72 forcing a playoff which Ray won with a birdie on the third hole. Other Indian scores had Hayden Hesler with 83, Landen Ray with 84, Nolan Tewell with 85, Garrett Hulfaucher with 87 and Ethan Kelly with 97. The next action for the Indians is Monday afternoon in the Robinson Invitational.
