Two Sentenced in Lawrence County Circuit Court

   Lawrence County State’s Attorney Michael Strange announced that two people were sentenced in Lawrence County Circuit Court this week. 53 year-old Richard Perry of St. Francisville was sentenced to two years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on a charge of unlawful possession of methamphetamine. That will be followed by one year of mandatory supervised release. Perry is also required to pay a $500 mandatory drug assessment as well as court costs.

   32 year-old Clayton Kirkman of Mt. Carmel was re-sentenced to two years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on a charge of unlawful violation of an order of protection.  Kirkman had previously been placed on two years of felony probation; but admitted to violating the terms of his probation by submitting a drug screen that tested positive for methamphetamine and benzodiazepine. Kirkman’s prison sentence will be followed by four years of mandatory supervised release.  Kirkman is also required to pay fines as well as court costs.
