BIG FIRST INNING LEADS DBACKS TO WIN OVER CUBS

The Arizona Diamondbacks sent nine batters to the plate in the first inning and scored five times off Cub starter and loser Luke Farrell in a 7-1 win Monday night at Wrigley Field.  A.J. Pollack had two hits and Jeff Mathis added a two run double to back the strong pitching of Patrick Corbin in the win. Corbin gave up just one run and six hits while striking out nine for his first win since June 5th. Paul Goldschmidt also went deep as the Dbacks won for the fourth time in five games in Chicago. Game two of the four game series is under the lights Tuesday. It will be Kyle Hendricks (6-8) going for the Cubs against Clay Buchholz (2-1) for Arizona.
