CUBS HOST CARDS FOR FIVE AT WRIGLEY

Major league baseball gets back underway Thursday night after the All-Star break with the renewal of a National League Central Division rivalry. The Chicago Cubs will host the St Louis Cardinals in a five game weekend series at Wrigley Field. The series is five games with the makeup of a game weathered out earlier this season in a doubleheader Saturday. The Cubs come in with a 55-38 record leading the Central by 2 1/2 games over Milwaukee and have won three straight. The Cardinals are third in the division at 48-46 7 1/2 games behind the Cubs and playing their first away series under interim manager Mike Schildt who replaced Mike Matheny who was fired Saturday. Pitching pairing for the first game has Carlos Martinez (6-5) for the Cards and Kyle Hendricks (6-8) for the Cubs.
