CUBS SWEEP PADRES HIT ALL-STAR BREAK IN FIRST PLACE

Jason Heyward drove in two runs to back the solid pitching of All-Star Jon Lester and the Chicago Cubs completed a sweep of the San Diego Padres at Petco Park Sunday with a 7-4 win. Lester won for the eighth time in nine starts as the Cubs ran out to a 5-0 lead after two innings and never looked back. With the win, the Cubs are in first in the National League Central Division with a 55-38 record and a 7 1/2 game lead over the slumping Milwaukee Brewers. The Cubs are off for the All-Star break until Thursday when they are back at Wrigley Field to open up a five game series with the St Louis Cardinals.
