REDS SNAP CUB WINNING STREAK

Tyler Mahle tossed one run baseball into the seventh inning and Scooter Gennett drove in the winning run with a sacrifice fly to lead the Cincinnati Reds to a 3-2 win over the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field Friday afternoon. The victory was the fifth straight over the Cubs by the Reds and snapped the Cub six game winning streak. Adam Duvall also drove in a run for the Reds in the first game of the three game series. The Cubs had the tying run on base late in the game but could not drive it in. Raul Iglesius picked up the save. The two teams play game two Saturday afternoon with Matt Harvey (4-5) on the bump for the Reds and Tyler Chatwood (3-5) for the Cubs.
