CUBS LOSE 5TH STRAIGHT IN L.A.

Kenta Maeda pitched seven scoreless innings and Enrique Hernandez and Chris Taylor each hit solo homers as the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Chicago Cubs 2-1 at Dodger Stadium Monday night. The loss was the fifth straight for the Cubs who have scored a combined 13 runs over those games. Maeda struck out nine and allowed three singles. Kenley Jansen allowed a run in the top of the ninth on a Javier Baez sacrifice fly before picking up his 20th save. Taylor’s homer was a pinch hit blast and provided the game winning run. Game two of the four game series is Tuesday night with Jon Lester (9-2) going for the Cubs and Ross Stripling (6-2) for the Dodgers. The game can be heard on Lite 103 WAKO beginning with the pregame at 8:35 p.m. Central 9:35 Eastern.
