Lawrence County State’s Attorney Michael Strange announced that a Vincennes man was sentenced in Lawrence County Circuit Court this week. 50 year-old Renold Elp was re-sentenced to three-and-a-half years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on a charge of unlawful purchase of methamphetamine. Elp had previously been placed on 24 months of felony probation; but admitted to violating the terms of his probation by failing to appear for drug screens. Elp’s prison sentence will be followed by one year of mandatory supervised release. Elp is also required to pay fines as well as court costs.
