HOT REDS RALLY TO BEAT CUBS

Jesse Winker hit his first career grand slam during a six run rally in the bottom of the sixth inning to propel the Cincinnati Reds to a 6-2 win Thursday night over the Chicago Cubs at the Great American Ballpark. In the inning, the Reds sent 11 men to the plate and matched their biggest scoring inning of the season. Cub starter and loser Kyle Hendricks walked three in the frame to set up the two out rally and was relieved by left hander Randy Rosario who gave up the Winker slam. Reds starter Matt Harvey picked up his second win for his new team going six innings and allowing five hits including Javier Baez’s two run double. The win was the fourth in a row for the Reds. Game two of the four game series is Friday night with Jose Quintana (6-5) pitching for the Cubs and Luis Castillo (4-8) for the Reds.
