The Chicago Cubs are tied for first place with the Milwaukee Brewers in the National League Central Division after Jon Lester scattered five hits over seven innings of a 4-0 shutout of the Los Angeles Dodgers Wednesday afternoon at Wrigley Field. Kyle Schwarber blasted a long home run and Javier Baez had two doubles and a triple to back Lester’s solid outing. The Cubs took the last two games of the brief three game home series. They are in Cincinnati Thursday night to open a four game set with the Reds at the Great American Ballpark.
